Panoramic sunroofs are now available on many more affordable vehicles, including a wide range of SUVs. Sorting through every manufacturer’s website to find out which models offer panoramic sunroofs and how much it costs to add the option to each base vehicle is a tedious and time-consuming process. Fortunately, we’ve already done it for you.
To keep this list as relevant to the typical new SUV shopper as possible, the main section of this list has a price cap of $40,000, including the destination freight charges but not tax, title, or licensing fees. If the panoramic glass roof isn’t standard on all trim levels of a given vehicle, we’ve included the price of the trim level required to get the panoramic roof, as well as any individual cost for the option, whether as a standalone feature or as part of a package. At the end of the list, we’ve included luxury SUVs that are available with a panoramic glass roof, as well as the cost of the upgrade.
It’s also important to note that there are other affordable SUVs that offer sunroofs or even multiple individual sunroofs over each row, but this list is solely for the SUVs that offer a glass roof that spans multiple rows.
What Is a Panoramic Sunroof (or Moonroof)?
The dividing lines between sunroofs, moonroofs, and their panoramic variants have always been a bit blurry, in part because these are largely marketing terms and in part because no one has ever really agreed on exactly what they mean. That said, there is some level of consensus that a panoramic sunroof is larger and more, well, panoramic in its view of the sky than a typical sunroof or moonroof. Our working definition of a panoramic sunroof or moonroof is one that spans multiple rows as a single unit or pane of glass. Double individual sunroofs, for example, do not meet the definition, but a single large sunroof with a crossbar in the middle would.
Why Would I Want a Panoramic Sunroof (or Moonroof)?
There are many reasons to buy or lease a car with a panoramic sunroof. Chief among them is the extra light the sunroof allows into the cabin. These days, extra light doesn’t necessarily mean a lot of extra heat, as many use glass that blocks some or all infrared light — the main source of heat from the sun. Another good reason to get a panoramic roof on your next car is for the extra sense of space and airiness in the cabin. A glass roof can make even a snug, sporty sedan or coupe-styled SUV feel open and expansive inside, especially in the rear seating and cargo areas. However, if you’re a taller person, or if you will have taller occupants in the second or third rows, you may want to make sure adding a panoramic sunroof won’t impinge on headroom, as they can reduce overhead space by several inches.
Is a Panoramic Sunroof (or Moonroof) Worth It?
This is something everyone has to decide for themselves, but in many cases, a panoramic glass roof can be added to a new vehicle for $1,500 or less — or about 5% or less of a car’s total price. That’s a pretty reasonable premium for a feature that can completely transform the experience inside your new car, especially for second- or third-row occupants.

To get a panoramic sunroof on the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, you’ll have to choose the LT trim or higher and select the Panoramic Power Sunroof package. The panoramic sunroof option requires the addition of the Driver Confidence Package and the LT Cold Weather Package for a total of $2,880 (or $2,485 on all-wheel-drive [AWD] models) and a minimum vehicle cost of $28,475 ($30,080 with AWD).
