Electric Variation Available
Updated January 30, 2025
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a luxurious, long-range midsize luxury electric SUV with futuristic style and abundant standard equipment. Pricing starts at $79,050.
A serene cabin, plush materials, cutting-edge tech, and an amazing sound system are just the tip of the 2025 EQE SUV’s feature iceberg, and that feature set expands a little for the new model year. The EQE SUV’s maximum range is now a more competitive 302 miles, while this year’s updates improve the cabin’s comfort and luxury. The top-spec EQE 500 SUV is a performance beast, accelerating as quickly as a sports car, while seating five occupants in perfect comfort thanks to a roomy second row. The even higher-performance Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV is reviewed separately, as is the similarly named EQE sedan.
We’ve driven and evaluated every electric luxury SUV of this generation, including several examples of the Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV gets new standard equipment, new options, and some midyear changes as well. The new standard items are a center airbag and rear headrest pillows, now included with all versions of the EQE SUV. New options include soft-closing doors, new rear pillows with leather and Nappa leather upholstery, plus new headrest pillows with the optional multi-contour front seats.
Updates due to hit the EQE SUV range for 2025.5, starting with December production, include the omission of the rear-seat headrest cushions and pillows, the reintroduction of a walnut wood trim in place of maple, and redesigned rear seats with improved comfort, including additional padding.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV has a starting sticker price of $79,050, with the range-topping Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV EQE 500 4MATIC kicking off at $90,650. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $7,273 to $8,340 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.

The electric midsize luxury SUV class is still figuring itself out, so contenders have a variety of starting prices, capabilities, and features. The EQE SUV starts just below $80,000, putting it on par with the Tesla Model X, but a bit above the Audi Q8 e-tron and below the BMW iX. The Rivian R1S is a more rugged, off-road-oriented electric 3-row SUV priced about the same as the EQE SUV. The Acura ZDX and Cadillac Lyriq offer similar ranges at more approachable prices.
Before buying a 2025 EQE SUV luxury electric vehicle, be sure to check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to see what you should be paying. The EQE SUV’s resale value is about average for its class. Recouping more money when you sell your car can translate to more money to spend on your next car.
The EQE SUV’s ride is balanced and comfortable while retaining some athleticism, but the best setup is the optional air suspension. This system brings more of the traditional Mercedes-Benz waft while also adding extra agility at the other end of the dynamics spectrum. Another agility enhancer we’ve grown fond of with the EQE SUV is the optional rear-wheel steering system.
The EQE SUV has a rear-drive setup, or buyers can add 4Matic all-wheel drive (AWD) for no cost. Either way, a 288-horsepower drivetrain is part of the picture. The rear-drive model comes with a bigger battery, but the 4Matic version has a dual-motor configuration and an additional 147 lb-ft of torque, which makes it slightly quicker to accelerate, taking 6.2 seconds to hit 60 mph from a standstill, compared to the base model’s 6.4 seconds.
The performance option (short of the AMG variant reviewed separately) is the EQE 500, which has a bigger battery pack and a stronger dual-motor setup rated at 402 hp. This variant accelerates from zero to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.
The EQE SUV’s cabin features elegant design and premium materials, including comfortable seats. We’ve also enjoyed the technology, including the impressive Hyperscreen displays.
The EQE SUV’s 5-seat layout is typical for its class and midsize luxury SUVs. However, the EQE SUV’s second-row legroom is on the more generous side, with 40.6 inches of legroom. That’s about 1.5 inches more than the BMW iX and Audi Q8 e-tron.
The BMW and Audi offer more cargo space behind the second row, though, and the iX has significantly more total cargo capacity.
The EQE SUV’s smooth, rounded shape may be a bit too simple for some, but to our eyes, its clean lines hint at aerodynamic efficiency and high-tech elegance. The large wheels give it dynamic proportions, especially for an SUV, and Mercedes-Benz’s EV-specific design flourishes look a bit like a movie car made real.
This year’s updates include new aesthetic touches, including new body-colored wheel arch linings with the AMG Line Exterior package and a new exterior paint color: Manufaktur Moonlight White Metallic.
Burmester audio
This excellent surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos is standard equipment in every EQE SUV. It’s one of our favorites.
Parktronic with Active Parking Assist
This system includes a 360-degree camera system, taking a lot of the mental load out of parking in a city. This feature is also standard in the EQE SUV.
Driver Assistance package
Well worth the price, this collection of advanced driver aids will help keep occupants safer in any condition. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, evasive steering assistance, and many other features are included.
Augmented reality
This system makes it much easier to find your way in unfamiliar places by superimposing street names, directions, and other information over a camera view of the outside world,
Hyperscreen
Screens have been growing for years, but the Hyperscreen takes it to the limit, its 56-inch curved glass surface spanning the full width of the dashboard. Three displays are housed beneath, including a 12.3-inch driver display, a 17.7-inch central OLED touchscreen, and another 12.3-inch display for the passenger.
Serene Breeze EQ sound experience
Beyond comfortable seats, a serene ride, and a quiet cabin, the EQE SUV takes rejuvenation up a notch. This system uses restful sounds to help keep driver and passengers stress-free and comfortable even after hours on the road.
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has four main variants. The base EQE 350+ has rear-wheel drive and a 96-kWh battery. This model achieves the EQE SUV’s best range of 302 miles. The EQE 350 4Matic has a smaller 90.6-kWh battery and 267 miles of range, one mile more than the EQE 500 4Matic. At the very tip of the EQE SUV spear is the AMG model, reviewed separately, which gets up to 230 miles of range.
The EQE 350+ has a similar range compared to its rivals, although some, like the BMW iX, Cadillac Lyriq, and Tesla Model X, offer a bit more. The EQE 350 4Matic, on the other hand, is about 20 to 40 miles behind most of its competition.
The EQE SUV takes advantage of DC fast charging, allowing it to go from 10% to 80% battery capacity in just 32 minutes — on par with its luxury electric SUV competition.
4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty
Mercedes-Benz offers new car and powertrain warranties of four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is typical among luxury carmakers, especially European ones. The EQE SUV’s batteries are covered for 10 years or 155,000 miles, which is better than most and more than the federally required eight years or 100,000 miles.
Safety Ratings
Although the Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV hasn’t been crash-tested by any agencies in the United States, it did earn the maximum five stars overall from the similar Euro NCAP program.
