"I bought this vehicle 5 years ago for hardly anything. It had a bad intake gasket. I put a new one in and drove it for my winter car. The push button 4WD was great. The car doesn't want to die. It now has a bad head gasket, it overheats from lack of coolant (due to gasket), but it just keeps going! This car has owed me nothing and has needed very little care. If you are looking for dependability, the Loyale is the ticket. It's not the best in show, it will not win any races, and it isn't like riding in a luxery vehicle, but it will never let you down and will always be there when you need it the most."
"Not the sexiest or the fastest car, but it's simple and reliable. I've driven this car up and down the east coast, as well as cross-country without any problems. It has great visibility (i.e., not much of a blind spot) and good gas mileage (~30pmg as another has mentioned). The engine is also configured such that it's easy to do simple maintenance work yourself."
Pros: "Fun to drive, versatile, great value for the money"
Cons: "hard to find one in good shape"

"I bought my '94 Loyale in 2011 with 133,000 miles on it, for only $750. Aside from being a little dirty and faded, it had no real problems. Very simple styling, but once I got it all cleaned and detailed, it looked great. It was fun to drive, rode surprisingly smooth, and was very comfortable. The factory stereo wasn't the best, but I replaced the stereo and speakers for under $200. I also replaced the rear shocks and tires while I had it. The only problems I ever had were an issue with the heater, which just turned out to be a bad control panel, and an overheating problem, which was because the previous owner had propped the thermostat open. I sold it because it had a leak in one head gasket, and I didn't have the money to get it fixed. Overall I enjoyed having it, and easily got more than my money's worth."
