The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that “the infotainment control unit’s software might trigger a higher number of system resets as part of an intended fallback behavior.”
According to Mercedes-Benz, the problem results in a “brief interruption” of the display. Drivers might not be able to see important driving information, increasing the risk of a crash.
Mercedes-Benz is aware of many warranty claims and service reports. There have been no reported accidents or injuries due to the instrument cluster malfunction.
Dealerships will perform a software update of the infotainment control unit at no charge.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail beginning June 26, 2026.
