Audi, Porsche Recall Cars to Fix Problem Previous Recall Created

2021 Audi Q5 TFSIeIt’s a re-recall. Audi and Porsche have recalled about 32,000 vehicles to fix a problem some dealerships may have inadvertently created when making repairs under a previous recall.

The recall applies to some examples of the 2020-2021 Porsche Cayenne and a long list of Audi vehicles. They include:

The vehicles involved were all subject to recall last year due to a problem with a rear axle nut. Audi has since discovered that some dealerships may not have performed the repair properly. Dealers weren’t initially instructed to check the alignment of the rear axle as they performed the repair. Most technicians probably did so anyway. But Audi has found a few examples where the rear suspension is out of alignment after the repair.

So it plans to bring the repaired vehicles back in for an alignment check. Dealers will inspect the alignment and, if necessary, adjust it. Recall repairs are always free.

Many cars are recalled, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Find out whether your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
