2027 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX CrewMax

Refreshed for 2027, the well-rounded Toyota Tundra is known for its off-road capability, work credentials, and impressive resale value.

There are two sides to the Toyota Tundra. On the one hand, it’s an easy-driving, comfortable full-size truck that’s a great choice for first-time pickup owners who have moved up from a car or SUV. This truck comes standard with Toyota’s Safety Sense suite of driver aids. In addition, the Tundra offers stellar resale value. On the other hand, the Tundra is built for serious off-road duty, as well as towing and carrying payload. There is a variety of off-road trims that resonate with off-roaders, beginner and advanced alike. And for 2027, the entire line benefits from updates that build on what the Tundra is known for.

All 2027 Tundras enjoy some sprucing up front, with rectangular LED lights in the front bumper guard and an updated grille. RIGID fog lights are optional. The cabin gets the newest version of the Toyota Audio Multimedia system with a new standard 14-inch home screen and a built-in dashcam that can capture up to 20 seconds of video.

For 2027, the Tundra comes with the updated Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, which includes pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert with steering assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and lane tracing assist for 2027. In addition, a Remote Connect subscription will let you start the truck with your phone’s native Digital Wallet.

The TRD Pro benefits from some updates for 2027 as well. There are new Fox adjustable shocks that were designed to improve stability and feel over rough trails. And there’s a new body color, called Honeycomb.

Trailhunter
This package is designed for overlanding and other off-road journeys. Built on the SR5 trim, the Trailhunter comes with an Old Man Emu suspension, 265/70R 18 Michelin LTX Trail M&S all-season tires, and Bronze 18-inch wheels. It also has terrain control with drive modes, Crawl Control, front tow hooks, and more.

It’s a budget-friendly alternative to trim levels like the highly capable TRD Pro. Toyota says, “Positioned at a more accessible price point, the Trailhunter package helps make adventure-ready capability more attainable for customers looking to get out and explore.” Competitors have similar options — the Ford F-150 STX FX4, Chevy Silverado Custom Trail Boss (2026), and Ram Warlock — all of which are priced in the mid-$50,000s. We expect the Trailhunter to be priced competitively.

We expect the 2027 Toyota Tundra to go on sale in winter 2026-2027.

Toyota has confirmed the trim levels that will be available in 2027, although more might be introduced later in the year. Rumors are swirling about a Ford Raptor fighter called the TRD Hammer. Engine and Transmission

Toyota has not released engine specifications yet, but has confirmed there will continue to be a choice of a gas or a hybrid powertrain. We anticipate the 10-speed automatic transmission will return.
