What Owners are Saying About the 2026 Toyota Mirai
"Great commuter car"
"Great commuter car when you live next to or close by a hydrogen station. Get this car if you live close by or next to a hydrogen fuel cell. I have use this car for one year commuting and haven’t had any trouble or issue filling it up."
"My Mirai"
"Great car, next generation technology , full featured , great lease deals. Free fuel, no cost maintenance, govt rebates and carpool lane access Biggest issue get H2 on a regular basis."
"Fantastic Vehicle but beware of infrastructure"
"I have an XLE. I'm comparing to the Gen1 2018 model I had previously. The incentives on this car are amazing and tilted towards purchasing it (at least near the end of 2021). Compared to the Gen1, there's really no comparison in terms of the way this car drives, accelerates and the styling. In power mode, this car really accelerates much faster than the claimed time. It's not a Tesla in that regard, but there's much more than ample acceleration available. It's a beautiful vehicle, has superb handling, and an amazing luxury car ride-- quiet, tight, rattle free and excellent build quality. A few problems are the trunk is extremely small for the vehicle size, the rear seats aren't as comfortable as Gen1, and the driver interface is a bit clunky and seems to lack the performance information (e.g., MPGe record) of the Gen1. Complaints you hear about the infrastructure are real. Especially, in the Bay area, fueling stations are extremely unreliable and one burp in the supply chain can take down stations at the snap of a finger. I purchased this one in hopes that the new Las Vegas H2 plant expected to come on line in Q2 2022 will improve the situation. I'm hopeful that FCEV take on a much needed niche as we transition away from ICE vehicles. 5 minutes to fuel with nearly a 400 mile range may be possible eventually with EVs, but it's already happening with FCEVs as long as you can find a working station without a line of cars. For me, that's not a problem as I live within 12 miles of 7 stations, and have a flexible schedule. So I'm not subject to the long lines and frustrations of my fellow trailblazers. Just do your homework before buying or leasing to make sure the limited and unreliable infrastructure can fit your lifestyle."
