The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland is the off-road-themed evolution of the bZ electric vehicle lineup, ready to take the kids to practice in any weather. Pricing starts at $46,750.
The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland is the quickest, roomiest, and most off-roadable version of the brand’s electric crossover platform to date. It offers up to 281 miles of range, can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and even offers 8.4 inches of ground clearance. If you’re looking for a do-it-all electric vehicle (EV) that blurs the lines between SUV and wagon, the new bZ Woodland might be for you.
We’ve logged hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of electric SUVs, including the Toyota bZ and bZ Woodland.

While the C-HR is the sporty choice of the bZ, bZ Woodland, and C-HR lineup, the bZ Woodland is actually the most powerful, with the quickest zero to 60 mph time. How quick is it? Toyota says it can hit 60 mph from a stop in just 4.4 seconds. That’s about a half-second quicker than the C-HR. The bZ Woodland features a single powertrain choice that brings dual electric motors and all-wheel drive (AWD), delivering 375 horsepower (hp) of total output.
Aside from raw acceleration, it’s clear that the bZ Woodland is set up with comfort over rougher terrain in mind. It’s softer and more easygoing than the C-HR’s setup, and it eats up bumps with less vibration transmitted inside. The taller tire sidewall of the Woodland, which comes standard with 18-inch wheels, with or without the zero-cost option all-terrain tires, is a big contributor to enhanced comfort.
Around town and on rural two-lanes, the bZ Woodland feels composed and comfortable. We did notice a bit of road and wind noise at speeds above 55 mph, which may make it a bit less appealing as a road-trip car, despite its reasonable range and fairly quick charging.
Familiar and user-friendly in the way most Toyotas are, the 2026 bZ Woodland should instantly feel like home for most drivers. The materials are very good overall, with the hardest plastics reserved for areas you’ll rarely have cause to touch. Most of the things you’ll interact with on a daily basis – the steering wheel and its stalks, the center console, the door handles, etc. – feel solid and well-made, with soft-touch plastics and synthetic leathers for most touch points.
Space is the thing you’ll get the most of in the bZ Woodland, at least compared to the standard bZ and the C-HR. Thanks to its extended rear section, the bZ Woodland offers up to 74.9 cubic feet of cargo space with all rear seats folded flat; that’s about 10% more than the standard bZ. The bZ Woodland also gets an upgraded roof rack capable of carrying more weight and accessories.
The bZ Woodland is well-equipped with tech and safety features by default, coming in only two grades: bZ Woodland and bZ Premium. The standard bZ Woodland comes with a 14-inch central touchscreen, a smaller driver instrument panel screen, four USB-C ports, dual Qi-capable wireless device chargers, dual-zone climate control, 8-way power front seats, heated front and rear outboard seats, and a heated steering wheel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included.
The bZ Premium adds ventilated front seats, driver seat memory, auto-tilt side mirrors, a digital rearview mirror, a panoramic glass fixed roof with power sunshade, and a 9-speaker JBL audio system with subwoofer and amplifier.
On the safety front, the bZ Woodland includes a 5-year subscription to Safety Connect and Service Connect, which provide emergency and roadside assistance. The bZ Woodland also includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, a suite of features with pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, full-speed-range adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane-keep assist, and much more.
The new bZ Woodland comes with a single available battery size (74.7 kWh), enabling 10%-80% charging in about 30 minutes with DC fast charging, or 10%-100% in about 7-8 hours on the built-in 11-kW charger that plugs into a 240-volt outlet (it can also charge, more slowly, from 120-volt outlets). The charging port is a Tesla-compatible NACS port, and the battery offers pre-conditioning to optimize charge times even in inclement weather.
Thanks to its slightly higher ride height, the bZ Woodland isn’t the most efficient Toyota EV, achieving a maximum range of 281 miles with the standard all-season tires. That figure falls to 260 miles of range when equipped with the optional, no-cost all-terrain tires for enhanced off-road traction.
Compared to rivals, the bZ Woodland sits toward the back of the pack in total range; most rivals get about 300 miles, and vehicles like the Chevy Equinox EV and Tesla Model Y offer 319 miles or more.
