Besides its obvious luxury trappings, the LX 470 is attractive to those who need seating for eight people but don’t want to drive something as massive as a Cadillac Escalade EXT or Infiniti QX56.
The LX 470’s age shows mostly in the body, doors and instrument panel design. Third-row passengers may find the legroom cramped and the cargo space skimpy. If you tow more than 6,500 pounds, this is not the SUV for you.
No major changes for 2007.
Lexus’ oldest vehicle, the LX 470, rides on the same aging platform as the Toyota Land Cruiser. Despite the Lexus name, the LX 470 cannot be considered the pick of the premium luxury SUV litter. Its chassis is nowhere near as refined as those from Land Rover, Cadillac or Mercedes-Benz, nor is its V8 engine as powerful – unable to break the 300 horsepower barrier. On the flip side, the Lexus does come with a long list of standard amenities, has room for eight (although it’s helpful if three of them are somewhat small) and has an exemplary record of reliability and strong resale.
2007 Lexus LX pricing starts at $17,473 for the LX LX 470 Sport Utility 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $68,090 when new. The range-topping 2007 LX LX 470 Sport Utility 4D starts at $17,473 today, originally priced from $68,090.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. The prices here reflect what buyers are currently paying for used 2007 Lexus LX models in typical condition when purchasing from a dealership. These prices are updated weekly.
The LX 470’s standard four-wheel-drive system is always engaged and employs a center differential to split power 50/50 front-to-rear. For steep grades or more treacherous terrain, you can switch the system to four-wheel low, locking the center differential and increasing the vehicle’s overall traction.
The gearbox also includes a downhill assist that keeps the vehicle from accelerating during steep descents. Even when you are motoring at highway speeds – a task made effortless by the marvelously smooth 4.7-liter V8 – a litany of advanced traction, stability and brake controls ensure that the LX 470 will do everything possible to get you and yours home safe and secure and in complete control.
The LX 470’s strongest interior feature is headroom. Front- and center-row passengers will find comfortable accommodations; however, third-row passengers have to squeeze into place and won’t find much room for stretching out.
The LX 470’s Land Cruiser roots are clearly evident even with all the Lexus additions. The LX’s tall greenhouse provides an unparalleled near-360-degree view, thanks in part to the narrow pillars.
Night View Infrared Imaging
Night View infrared imaging system helps you see objects in the road that are beyond the view of the headlamps.
Standard Tow Hitch
The LX 470’s standard tow hitch is built into the rear bumper.
The LX 470 features a 4.7-liter V8 engine, full-time four-wheel drive, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes (ABS), dual-zone air conditioning, fog lights, garage door opener, automatic headlamp control, dual-heated power mirrors with power fold-in and auto-dimming feature, front side-impact and side head-curtain airbags, navigation, power moonroof, illuminated running boards, Mark Levinson Premium Audio System with Automatic Sound Levelizer and six-disc CD changer, heated leather seats, cruise control, stability control, leather and wood power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, height-adjustable suspension, towing receiver hitch, traction control and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Options include a rear DVD entertainment system, Night View night vision and Lexus Link telematics.
While the LX 470’s V8 is a smooth, quiet performer, its power and torque deliver adequate but not stellar acceleration and towing statistics. Fuel economy figures are no better than those of competitors touting far more powerful engines.
