Pros: "Great value, stiff ride, fun to drive"

Cons: "Fuel Mileage"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"My 2000 Excursion Limited 4X4 just turned over 300,000 miles on the original v10. Yes, I have had one cylinder blow the spark plug, but that is an easy and cheap fix. What amazes me is the size and drive-ability of the SUV. While the steering could stand some improvement in tightness, the overall feel of the vehicle is just like driving my F150. I'm getting 12.9 mpg on the highway at a constant 70 mph. The quality of fit and finish were great but am having problems with paint flaking off. (Repaint scheduled for July 25th). The interior is all business and the dual A/C works fabulous. It has a rock solid ride and on long trips you arrive comfortable and not tired. We use our Excursion for youth work and take kids up to 190 miles in a day's drive and find they can sleep, talk, do whatever and are in a good mood when we stop for the night or reach our destination. On trips to Florida to visit our son, our labs ride with all the room they need with the seats folded and and our luggage stows perfectly. I wish Ford would bring it back. The Expedition EL is good, but no where the vehicle the Excursion is. Besides, an all diesel version would be perfect for all drivers who want economy and longevity in an SUV."

Pros: "Excellent power, great capacity, 4WD works great"

Cons: "Not reliable when it counts, ~11.9 MPG combined"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"I purchased this vehicle a few years ago. I loved it. It was reasonably reliable (petty issues existed like mirror switches working in only one direction, door lock on passenger door wouldn't lock and eventually stopped altogether, etc) but the real heartbreak came when a MAJOR design flaw became evident. The 6.8L v10 engine aluminium heads are not blessed with adequate spark plug threads. As a result, it will begin to blow spark plugs out of the cylinder heads as the vehicle begins to age (160,000+ miles). Ford released a bulletin recommending welding a thread kit back in, but these are not a reliable fix. I loved that truck until it let me down."

Built To Last

"Ive had Big Bertha since 2007 look hard for 2 years to find a black 4 x 4 Excursion 7.3 and she was well worth the wait. Cross country trips 10 plus time from Cali to back home in Georgia. Up and down the East coast DC to FL. Sand Dunes in Mexico, Trail riding in the SoCal mountains nothing stops her, Even pulling the toy hauler. She has been upgraded with a John Woods built trans (Bullet Proof) DP Tuner programmer, water methanol injection, Exhaust amd Air intake. She can get up to about 30 mpg highway and averages 20 city. if I drove her normally. But I don't ( Shes a SLeeper) All in all, great truck"

Pros: "Best truck ever owned"

Cons: "None!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Great vehicle with luxury interior/sound. Superb visibility and A!C & heater. Most interior room ever, especially with third seat removed & rear seat flattened. Works flawlessly in snow and stability is unequaled by any truck I've previously owned. Ford did this one right! Not cheap, but better than any GM vehicle I've owned! Good resale value--- think it was a mistake to cease production after 2005!,,"

Life's a Beach!

"Without question this is the best family SUV I have ever owned. Its large enough to carry and tow just about everything you would want with a family and at the same time have the ability to go anywhere you want to go - Highway, Beach, Woods. Just one exception most covered garages."
