What Owners are Saying About the 1997 Ford Aspire
"tough little car"
"My Aspire is the toughest car Ive ever had. I bought it 5 years ago for $225. It had 113,000 miles on it. It now has 239,000 miles on it and it still runs fine. Ive had to do some work on it such as new axles, fuel pump, struts, rotors and the regular maintanance stuff like brakes, plugs, wires etc. Its well on its way to 300,000 miles. One negative thing about it is that Ive always had a small electrical problem with the headlights. They'll go dim on me every so often. Other than that Ive definitly got my moneys worth out of this car and plan on keeping it till it dies."
"A Cheapskate's Dream Car"
"We have a 1996 red Aspire, 5 speed manual. Our car gets 42 mpg easily and 45 if we drive 55mph on the freeway. We've replaced an alternator, clutch, and done basic routine maintenance. We bought this at 67,000 miles and 9 years later, we're up to 206,000 and it's still going. With only an 8 gallon tank, gas is cheap. Runs well; speedometer fell off, muffler has a hole; the hole in the bumper shows the styrofoam underneath. It's a real beaut! Everyone in the neighborhood feels sorry for us because we look poor, but we feel sorry for them because their SUV's have got to suck a lot of money! If you don't want to spend lots of money getting from point A to B, this is the car for you."
"Reliable"
"I have owned my 1995 Ford Aspire for 12 years I paid 4000.00. She has been GREAT!! She is loud and her windshield wipers no longer work, but she is a reliable and loyal :) I really don't take care of her to well, but she hangs in there. She is great on gas and was wonderful through out the years. having hardly no problems with her at all but a timing belt. I am now looking to get a new car, because I live in FL and it is hot and she does not have AC. Overall..GREAT CAR. I will miss her."
