Dodge Chargers are muscle cars known for their performance and high-impact colors, making them hard to miss as they drive by. In honor of the Charger’s 60th anniversary, a limited-edition Purple Haze shade will be available on the 2027 Dodge Charger, adding an even bolder option to its color lineup.
Maximum Visual Punch
The Dodge Charger debuted in 1966, so this purple color has a vintage aesthetic while being “engineered for maximum visual punch,” Dodge says. Purple Haze has a high-gloss finish that shifts from bright in sunlight to a richer, deeper purple in the shade.
If buyers want even more customization, they can add Fratzog dual stripes, 10 different Mopar stripes and graphics, a Satin Black hood, or a hood patch.

High-Impact Hues
Dodge introduced its high-impact paint colors in 1969. In the 1970s, they had a color called Plum Crazy, and more recently, Hellraisin and In-Violet as options. Their current exterior color options include names such as Bludicrous, Redeye, and White Knuckle.
Color Matters
This is because color matters to Charger buyers. Dodge says color choice is “a top three purchase driver” for the Charger, and “nearly three times more important than the industry average” for the full-size car segment.
“Purple Haze is more than a color, it cranks up 60 years of Charger attitude, delivering a bold, factory-exclusive statement that’s every bit as formidable as the performance behind it,” says Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO.
The new Purple Haze exterior color is now available to order across the entire Charger lineup, with an MSRP of $795.
