Stellantis Recalls Almost 850,000 Vehicles Over Rearview Camera

2027 Chrysler Pacifica

Stellantis is recalling almost 850,000 vehicles for an issue that could prevent the rearview camera display from functioning. The recall impacts multiple brands in the automaker’s portfolio, but thankfully, the fix is as simple as an over-the-air software update.

This action impacts vehicles from the 2026 and 2027 model years, including:

  • 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), and Voyager minivans
  • 2026-2027 Dodge Charger
  • 2026 Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L, and Wrangler
  • 2026 Ram 1500, 2500, ProMaster, and ProMaster electric vehicle (EV)

Stellantis said the recall would expand to include almost 83,000 vehicles in Canada and around 8,000 in Mexico. An additional 15,736 vehicles may be impacted in other global markets. The company noted that it has not received reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem.

The recall announcement is still new and has not yet appeared on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website. Stellantis will begin notifying customers in early September, providing more information and instructions on how to receive the designated repairs.

If you own one of the affected models and notice a rearview camera display problem, you can still drive the vehicle, but you’ll need to be more aware of your surroundings. Stellantis recommends using the rear- and side-view mirrors when reversing as a workaround. As with all recalls, dealers will repair this issue at no cost to owners once the software update and full recall documentation become available.
