Price: The Volvo V60 starts at $45,700 for the Cross Country model. The high-performance, plug-in hybrid Polestar Engineered model starts at $67,300.
The Volvo V60 is a unique luxury car with very few direct competitors. Volvo has a long history of building premium wagons and the V60 continues that tradition in a unique way. For the 2022 model year, Volvo trimmed down the model range to just the rugged Cross Country model and the sporty, plug-in hybrid Polestar Engineered model.
The V60 Polestar Engineered isn’t quite like any other car. It’s a high-performance compact wagon with a 415-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain that can travel up to 22 miles on electricity alone. There are PHEV luxury sedans and SUVs out there, but this is really the only sporty hybrid wagon of its kind.
The V60 Cross Country is a good choice for drivers who like the idea of a rugged and practical wagon that can tackle just about any road condition but also have the budget for a luxury car. The only other luxury car like this is the Audi A4 Allroad, which is similarly priced. For a more affordable off-road-ready wagon, consider the Subaru Outback.
2022 Volvo V60 pricing starts at $31,433 for the V60 T5 Cross Country Wagon 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $46,795 when new. The range-topping 2022 V60 T5 Cross Country Wagon 4D starts at $31,433 today, originally priced from $46,795.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. The prices here reflect what buyers are currently paying for used 2022 Volvo V60 models in typical condition when purchasing from a dealership. These prices are updated weekly.
The Volvo V60 Cross Country is more agile than the average compact SUV but not quite as sporty as a luxury sedan like the similar Volvo S60. Its willing turbocharged engine makes this wagon eager around town, and passing on the highway is no problem. It also returns good fuel economy, achieving up to 31 mpg on the highway. Not bad, considering standard all-wheel drive.
As for off-road performance, the V60 Cross Country is more capable on the trails than the average luxury sedan, but it’s not a technical off-roader. That’s not a bad thing; rock climbing at Moab isn’t what the V60 is for. It can tackle just about any inclement road condition, and it’s up for mild off-roading without breaking a sweat.
The more performance-oriented Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain with very impressive performance numbers. It doesn’t have the taller ride height of the Cross Country model, making it look more like a traditional wagon, but it still has standard AWD. This wagon excels at performance and efficiency with little compromise.
The Volvo V60 is a roomy wagon. There’s plenty of room in the front seats, and even the back seats are adult-friendly. The cargo area is about average for a wagon this size, which means it has quite a bit more cargo space than a sedan this size. It has 50.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the back seats folded down.
The interior design is conservative and luxurious. This interior has a unique aesthetic in classic Volvo fashion that doesn’t quite look like any other luxury car. The interior materials are upscale, and the controls are mostly easy to use, but the vertically-oriented infotainment system has a learning curve.
The design of the Volvo V60 Cross Country looks both premium and rugged. The generous 8.3-inch ride height and subtle cladding on the lower body hint at its off-road capabilities. Meanwhile, the stylish LED light signature and elegant body lines leave no question that it’s a luxury car.
The V60 Polestar Engineered has a sportier personality than the Cross Country model. It has a lower stance, unique 19-inch wheels, gloss black trim, and front Brembo brakes with gold calipers.
The size of the Volvo V60 is very similar to the Audi A4 Allroad, and it’s a bit smaller than the Subaru Outback.
STANDARD AWD
Every Volvo V60 comes standard with all-wheel drive. AWD and 8.3 inches of ground clearance make the V60 Cross Country a respectable off-roader.
PLUG-IN HYBRID POLESTAR ENGINEERED MODEL
The plug-in hybrid powertrain in the V60 Polestar Engineered not only excites the driver with 415 horsepower, but it can go up to 22 miles running on electricity alone.
The standard powertrain in the Volvo V60 Cross Country is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Standard features in the V60 include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and fog lights, a panoramic moonroof, roof rails, leather seats, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, heated front seats, a memory driver’s seat, wireless charging, two USB-A ports in front, and two USB-C ports in the back.
The standard infotainment system in the V60 is a 9-inch vertical screen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and navigation.
Standard safety features in the V60 include a blind-spot information system with steering assist and cross-traffic alert with Autobrake, run-off road protection, and lane-keeping aid.
There are three desirable option packages available for the Volvo V60 Cross Country. Drivers in cold climates will be interested in the Climate Package ($750), which adds heated back seats and a heated steering wheel. The Advanced Package ($1,900) adds premium features like a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a 12V power outlet in the cargo area, and the Pilot Assist driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control. Finally, the Lounge Package ($2,800) adds more luxury with Nappa leather seats, cooled front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, a tailored dashboard, and more.
A few individual options for the V60 Cross Country include multiple premium audio systems, 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, Park Assist Pilot, and massaging front seats.
The Polestar Engineered model is a high-performance version of the V60 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It also comes with a sporty appearance package with gloss black trim and unique 19-inch wheels, plus a luxurious interior with Nappa leather sport seats, Bowers & Wilkins premium audio, and much more. The only additional options available are metallic paint and a power liftgate.
There are two engine options in the Volvo V60. Most V60 models are the Cross Country variant, which is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. This engine strikes a nice balance of performance and efficiency.
The Polestar Engineered model is a high-performance variant of the V60 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This is a “twin-charged” engine with a turbocharger and a supercharger. It has a net output of 415 horsepower and an all-electric range of 22 miles.
All V60 models have an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
