About Chevrolet Avalanche

The 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche truck is part pickup, part SUV and entirely practical. Its big, roomy cabin is virtually identical to the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, from the second-row seat forward. Out back is a pint-size 63-inch cargo bed. A unique folding midgate bulkhead between that bed and the flip-down rear seat extends the cargo area into the cabin, providing many more options for hauling bigger loads. Built on the same platform as the Suburban, the 2013 Avalanche full-size truck is endowed with the same strong chassis, ground clearance and available 4-wheel drive (4WD) as its SUV cousin. Chevy has announced that 2013 is the Avalanche's last year.

Pros: "Expensive but worth it-- always get compliments"

Cons: "rear view mirror auto dim--cant see backing up"

"The box is small but rarely use a full size box. I use the box for the dog after a hunting trip. The truck gets decent gas mileage-- I have gotten 23.8m per gallon on a 400 mile trip during the time coasted up hills and kept it around 55mph... all together average 20mpg hwy and 14 city. Stylish vehicle--- always get compliments. Love her almost 100k on her and never an issue."

Pros: "Great ride, winter driving, year-round hauling."

Cons: "Can't bring it in the house"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have tried put my truck in a spin on snow and ice. She refuses. Rides like a luxury car with that long chassis but maintains an impressive turning radius. The enclosed box has hauled rocks, beds and is the perfect place for stinky hockey equipment. Good power for towing. Absolutely LOVE this truck."

Pros: "Very Comfy to Drive"

Cons: "No Moon Roof"

"We did our research on this vehicle and found the best of all worlds. It is comfortible to drive, roomy for all our animals, we have 3 dogs, We can set the seat down adn have plenty of room. It will tow our trailer and still give us room to haul extra. The headlights are wonderful. They really light the road up. We are like it so much that we are going to buy a second one."
