It’s been done before: High-end automakers like Ferrari and Porsche selling branded items well outside the automotive space at a premium to true enthusiasts who have the money to spare. Tote bags, clothing, wristwear, office equipment. You name it, they’ve sold it.
Toyota, not a company without its own enthusiasts, is now giving the office chair market a new option, too. This one, however, isn’t inspired by the exclusivity of the GR performance sub-brand or the off-roading heritage of something like the Land Cruiser.
Instead, this product brings the lounge-like comfort of the Crown sedan’s front seat into your workspace. Literally. For roughly $3,500, Toyota’s own interior parts and materials supplier, Toyota Boshoku, will sell just 70 lucky customers a literal Crown front seat on rolling legs.

Not only does it retain the same perforated leather and headrest, but it also comes fully power-adjustable and heated/cooled like the one in the car. Boshoku partnered with furniture manufacturer ITOKI Corp. to make this automotive throne suitable for an office setting, adding a rechargeable battery and a five-legged base. Need to charge a device? They even kept the seat belt buckle and hid USB-C ports in it.
Here in the U.S., Toyota offers only two of the four Crown variants sold globally, but both come equipped with this seat design. It’s one of the most relaxing and cozy front seats we have ever tested, so call us jealous of whoever is lucky enough to snag one of these.

The company will sell the highly limited chairs through a Crown specialty store to Toyota aficionados who will give the Crown office chair a good home, as long as they’re willing to pay up.
Oh, and as long as they live in Japan.
