Ford recalled 41,748 vehicles due to potentially inoperative headlamps. The company estimates that just 1% of the recalled vehicles may have the problem, but it needs to inspect them all. Headlight assemblies in these vehicles may contain contaminants in their LED chips, which could affect their operation.
The recall affects the following:
- 2026 Ford F-550 Super Duty
- 2026 Ford F-450 Super Duty
- 2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty
- 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty
- 2025-2027 Ford Expedition
Owners of these vehicles may experience diminished or inoperative Daytime Running Lamps and parking lamps. Vehicles equipped with LED reflector or LED projector headlamps may also experience inoperative low and/or high beams.
A dashboard indicator may light up to signal the problem.
Owners can take their vehicle to a Ford dealer to have the headlamp assembly inspected. If the vehicle passes inspection, no further action needs to be taken. If it fails, dealers will replace the headlamp(s). This service is free of charge.
Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone.
