2017 Dodge Viper Bows Out with Special Editions
It’s now official. The legendary Dodge Viper will be saying farewell next year, but it plans to go out in style with five different limited-production 2017 models that celebrate notable versions of the car. Buyers can also opt for regular production Viper Coupes individually personalized using the existing “1 of 1” customization program.
All versions of the 2017 Viper carry over with the 8.4-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that makes 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual delivers output to the rear wheels. Each limited-edition model has a serialized dash plaque, the buyer’s name above the driver’s door and a custom car cover matching the paint scheme.
In confirming the end the Viper program which already had a temporary hiatus from 2010-2012, Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat – FCA, North America noted: “The Dodge Viper has had a great run, and 25 years after it was first introduced, it leaves the supercar world reaching for the records it continues to set.” Details of these 2017 Viper Coupe special editions are as follows:
