After its debut for the 2025 model year, the Kia K4 became an instant favorite among our editors for its affordability, roomy interior, good looks, and safety features. There’s much to like about this car, but here are our three favorite things.
1. Roomy Interior
The K4 comfortably seats five. And we mean comfortably. It has an impressive 38 inches of rear legroom, making it a car you want to invite people into. The front row also provides a generous 42.3 inches of legroom and 39 inches of headroom. An ultra-wide sunroof is available on upper trims, making the interior feel even more expansive.
2. Hatchback Version
The K4 sedan has five trim levels to choose from, but as if that’s not enough, it’s now also available as a hatchback. The K4 hatchback is new for 2026 and comes in three trim levels, with the GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo sharing the same top-of-the-line trim name and turbo engine capabilities as the sedan. The hatchback blends the practicality of an SUV with the driving dynamics of a compact sedan.
For those who love the sedan version but want even more room, the hatchback meets that demand. With the rear seats folded, it offers 59.3 cubic feet of space. With the seats up, it offers 8 cubic feet more than the sedan.
3. Driver Assistance Technology
Depending on the trim level, up to 29 driver-assistance features are available. Highlights include blind-spot monitoring, which is standard on all trims except the base trim (LX). All models get adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. A 12.3-inch touchscreen display is also prominent and comes standard. It’s no wonder that the K4 was awarded the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ and earned a 5 Star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
