More Trims Offer the 3.0-Liter V6 Engine

The biggest mechanical change for the 2027 Bronco lineup is the expansion of the 3.0-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine, which produces 380 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque.

Previously, this was exclusively available on the Raptor trim. Now, buyers don’t have to upgrade to the Raptor to get this powerful engine. It will be available as an option on the Badlands, Heritage, and Outer Banks models.

It will also be the only powertrain option for the new Filson trim.

New Variants Join the Lineup

Two new trims will join the lineup for 2027—both serve as collaborations between Ford and an outside brand. Ford seems to be targeting two different types of buyers: those who value upscale adventure travel and those who want high-speed desert performance.

First is the Bronco Filson, which is a collaboration with the Seattle-based apparel brand known for its outdoorsy reputation. Ford describes the Filson as “rugged premium.”

In our first look at the Bronco Filson, we found an interior featuring premium materials and equipment not previously offered in the Bronco lineup. This makes for a model that provides a more luxurious experience while retaining the Bronco’s off-road capability.

The Bronco RTR takes a different approach, focusing on high-speed off-road performance rather than luxury-focused upgrades. This model comes from a collaboration between Ford and RTR Vehicles, previously known for the RTR Mustang collaboration.

A unique 2.3-liter engine calibration with anti-lag, upgraded engine cooling, and 17-inch wheels all contribute to a design for high-speed off-road driving and desert running, according to Ford. There are packages available to take the off-road antics even higher if you desire a little more.

New Comfort and Color Options

The Bronco lineup will also see new features that focus on comfort for 2027. Most notable is the addition of a heated steering wheel as part of the Mid Package on Big Bend models, which was previously only offered at the higher end of the lineup.

Ford is also updating the Bronco color palette for 2027. Velocity Blue will be replaced by Neptune Blue across the entire Bronco lineup, and Neptune Blue will be available at an additional cost.

The Bronco Filson also gets its own color options: Field Green and Iron Sands Metallic.

Pricing for the 2027 Ford Bronco will be announced closer to its on-sale date. The 2026 Bronco begins at $42,490.
