"Will provide receipt showing $6,000 of work I put recently into this car. Excellent car for a high school student. Very safe car with a Steel cage around it."

"I have driven everything from a Honda Civic to GMC Sierra and I feel compelled to say that the 1994 Volvo 940 sedan is the best car I've ever driven. The only downside of this vehicle is the gas mileage is not spectacular (between 20-23 miles per gallon) so its not very efficient in that sense, however this tank of a car is the safest, sturdiest, most reliable car in the world! A plus side is that the gas tank is 19.2 gallons so from where I live in southern California, I can drive to San Francisco without refueling. The turning radius is impeccable!!! I know no such thing of this "3-point turn" due to the fact that my Volvo will pull a U-turn without any hesitation and without needing to reverse and so forth. Parallel parking is no problem whatsoever. This car is reliable to no end, some going well beyond 200,000.....300,000 even up to 500,000 miles and still going strong!!! If you are considering buying an older, used car, consider a Swedish made Volvo (pre-Ford)."

"I bought my 1992 Volvo 940 turbo 12 years ago. It runs like a top at 110,000, and I think I'll have it forever. I use synthetic oil, follow the maintenance guidelines, and have all my service done by a Volvo shop (very important!). I did have to replace the A/C master unit recently, but that's been the only significant repair (the rest has been routine maintenance -- belts, tires, fluids, batteries, brakes, etc). Some minor problems like power window control on driver's side going out, but other than a freak short in the battery, this car has never left me stranded. I would have no hesitation driving this car across country. I took it on a road trip through four mountain passes this last August with the A/C on high and the car ate up the road like it was all downhill. Great power, great handling, excellent turning radius, almost no blind spots. Very comfortable too. Interior has held up exceptionally well; the leather seats look almost new. I love this car so much that I dread the day I will finally have to put it to rest. However, I don't see that happening for many years and miles yet. This is the fourth Volvo I've owned (the others were 240's) and even though I loved my other Volvos, this 940 is the best of the lot. If you can find a good one that's been well taken care of, you won't go wrong buying it."
