❌❌❌☠️☠️ WARNING- Do not buy Mirai or any Hydrogen powered cars due to ridiculous pricing of Gas and poor resale value of vehicles .Do not fall in trap with 15k free gas card .You get a same car with 75 percent less value at car max with no free gas card . You will be spending 36 dollars per KG which is very expensive than regular gasoline and you will be spending one dollar nearly for each mile you drive .Is it not cheating ??And also, you have to drive far to find gas because most of gas stations do not work or having pumping issues . I am educating car buyers about risk of these cars and you going to suffer financially and mentally. Please take feedback of any Mirai or other Hydrogen gas car owners and you are going to get same feedback. Beware of free gas card and you will be spending it in months due to high Gas price . Thank you ❌❌❌❌❌☠️☠️

Low resale value due to market dynamics
The Mirai is a fantastic car! - for the right consumer. I understand that the experience of owning a Hydrogen fueled car varies, depending on the owner's specific situation and circumstance and temperament, and not everyone will have had the same experience. Below is a review about my particular experience with the wonderful Mirai (and I am leaving any commentary on fueling cost or infrastructure out, as this is a review of a car that I willingly purchased, with an understanding of potential issues and risks). OVERALL: The car itself is fantastic. For me, the ownership and experience has been nothing short of delightful, and continues to be so. Being based in close proximity to 3 or 4 hydrogen stations, primarily local driving, short work commute, and easy driving (getting 400 miles range), with occasional trips to San Diego, Los Angeles, or Temecula, this car has been fantastic. The car is fantastic, the deal was fantastic, and my particular ownership experience has been fantastic! LUXURY: The Mirai's Limited trim offers a luxury level experience of sophistication and convenience with its numerous comfort, safety, and driving features... it has all the bells and whistles. Driving is pleasant (with a quiet cabin, ventilated seats, and automated driving features) and parking is perfect every time (with the bird's eye camera view). STYLE: This car is one that even a Secret Agent would not look out of place in. It has beautiful lines, a solid presence, and, and handles well with elevated road manners, despite being a bit slow to go (the way I drive it). So, if you are not in a rush to complete your impossible mission, you can gently glide to your destination in style. ENVIRONMENT: One of the biggest draws of this car for me was that it does not produce and emissions other than water. Being an environmentally responsible individual, and perhaps a but impulsive, I picked up this car without much additional consideration. I feel pride in no longer having to pump/consume gasoline. And by driving conservatively, with easy starts from a stop, I am able to get 400 miles of range on full tanks. I have noticed many EV drivers behind me getting impatient and changing lanes etc. It seems they have become conditioned to launch from stops and drive fast - a forced impatience. RELIABILITY: I have had zero issues and zero maintenance costs with the car during my ownership of almost two years and ten months (at the time of this review). DEAL: With the incentives Toyota was offering, 10s of thousands off MSRP, $15k in fuel credit, it was too good a deal to pass up - particularly for my driving situation and needs. The only thing that really bothers me is that this car has an unreasonably low resale value due to the infrastructure, fuel cost, and other sentiments. This amazing car is still a marvel of technology, and should be valued much more. GRATITUDE: Thank you Toyota! for make such a magnificent car as the Mirai - and for your continued actions towards environmental sustainability.
Build on the same platform as the Lexus LS500

The car drives like a dream. Great support from Toyota, and I manage fueling by checking stations before I fill up. Price between $29 and $36 doesn't bother me. I bought it as a town car. When I purchased the Mirai in 2021, there was a Toyota $20k off MSRP and the dealer gave me another $5k. Also, $8k fed tax credit, $4.5k cash from Calif, 21 days free rental, $15k fuel credit, and 3 yrs/36k free service. All this plus $0 down, 0% interest rate for 6 yrs. The offer was so great, I bought another Mirai LTD.
Drives nice
Horrible fueling infrastructure/high cost
So Toyota will offer you all kinds of incentives to buy this car, popularly the low APR and a fuel card. However what they don’t tell you is that fuel stations are VERY limited (and half the time are down for maintenance ) and will rarely fill your car past 250 Miles. I average about 54MPGe (on eco mode) and find myself filling up once a week. The price for Hydrogen is currently $36 per kilo which will run you about $160-180 if you fill up a completely empty tank. The car itself is nice. The drive is very comfortable and the interior is clean, however the middle seat in the back is not viable whatsoever.
Nice looking car
unreliable and unaffordable hydrogen
I have a 2022 Mirai that I bought in late 8/2022. When I bought it, Hydrogen was about $18 per KG. The Mirai fills up with about 5 KG. As of the last quarter in 2023, hydrogen is $36/KG. The 15K card is almost gone, mind you I stopped driving it for work mid 2023 due to the increasing hydrogen price. I now drive my husbands large SUV because it's cheaper to drive than the Mirai. He now drives the Mirai as he leaves it parked at the BART station which he takes to work. During the weekends, we drive the large SUV as well. I now have a "nice" car just parked most of the time in my driveway. Oh yeah, good luck finding a hydrogen station nearby that works. The closest to me in Berkeley has been down since about summer 2023. The next closer one has been intermittently down for up to 3 months, off and on. So now, we have to drive at least 12 miles one way to get hydrogen (if it's even available). It's been a nightmare! I have no choice but to keep paying my car payment as the value of it to trade in is ridiculously low. Aside from that, making U-turns sucks. I probably can make U-turns easier in semi-trucks than with this thing. Leg room in the back and trunk space is very minimal as well. I got a little too excited when I saw this car and how good it would be for the environment. WORSE CAR PURCHASE OF MY LIFE!!!
similar to Lexus
hydrogen pricing and stations, often system down
As of Jan 2024 hydrogen price $36 per kg so it would cost $500 per month. The fuel cards from Toyota dealers wont last as they said 6 years(was $16)

Great commuter car when you live next to or close by a hydrogen station. Get this car if you live close by or next to a hydrogen fuel cell. I have use this car for one year commuting and haven’t had any trouble or issue filling it up.
Free hydrogen, almost no maintenance, free rental
More leg room in rear seats
Make sure you have hydrogen stations near by, It is fast (when battery is full) since it has suspension from LS 500 ride is soft and comfy, i wish rear seats had more leg room.
