The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty offers fantastic towing and payload capability in a civilized, luxurious truck. There’s no shortage of available high-tech or high-luxe features — including a massive 12-inch touch screen — and the interiors are as plush as you can get in a truck.
The 2020 Chevy Silverado HD promises a higher maximum towing capacity, and we don’t yet know the full details of the Ford F-Series Super Duty, so you may want to research the new competition before choosing a heavy-duty truck. For a truck that’s so capable, the Ram Heavy Duty’s ride is pleasant, and the interior is quiet. But if you don’t need to tow more than 10,000 pounds, consider a smaller, lighter, less expensive, more comfortable half-ton instead.
