"This car i the worst ever.I have a 2002 grand am gt with 85000 miles, just replaced the engine, put 2 cat. coverters on.It blew a manifold gasket and leaked coolant then it leaked into engine blowing a head gasket. So thats when i put a new enginein. The people who made the car put antifreeze in the car that eats at the manifold gasket. The dealership knows this but havent recalled the cars.If you have a 3.4l engine you will blow the manifold intake gasket sorry get rid of it before it happens.Worst car ever and it doesnt hold any value i brought it with 57,000 at 13,000.00 a year later i still owe 10000 and its worth 6 do not buy i put 4 thousand dollars in work in the car in the last 2 months"

Pros: "potent v6 very reliable engine"

Cons: "horrible interior quality bad legroom and seats"

"allot of people with think gm cars in general aren't reliable they aren't but there's something about the grand am that makes it keep going. over the years ive owned a few grand ams only one had broken down and that was around 220000 km and i was driving it to Florida but that was absolutely it reliability is very good but interior quality isn't that great back speakers haven't worked for years panel under glove box cracked and coming off buttons getting worn [expect that for an almost 10 year old gm car]and the window seals are bad i can just pull them of gas cover wont close and rims are bad still on but barely all the PLASTIC bolts are coming of only one is left. don't expect much from the seats there average not great. for a fair sized car you'd expect a fair size back seat but leg room isn't there. v6 is pretty potent its good and reliable styling you could judge for yourself i call the car a bubble because its very round. overall if you need a reliable car with not good interior quality then its a good car remember its a gm car you have to give a little [interior quality] to get a little [good engine]"

"good vehicle, other than I had to replace manifold (500) thru a personal friend did that one, (1,800) for head gasket, these cars always have the problem with gaskets, which is really pricey to fix, a great, beautiful car,"
