"I recently bought a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 with slightly under 30,000 miles. It's in amazing shape for a 15-year old vehicle. It was owned by a family friend - literally a sweet, "little old lady" who only drove it 12,000 miles during the last decade. Had it checked out top-to-bottom by my local mechanic, and based on the month I've owned the Pathfinder, I think it will be a great vehicle for Colorado's mountains both summer and winter!"

Pros: "VERY reliable, great 4WD, storage, etc!"

Cons: "Gas millage, pick up"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought my 1999 Pathfinder in 2007 when it was 8 years old. It had about 120k miles or so. I don't drive very far in my daily routines so now the millage is considered much better for being 17 years old with almost 170,000 miles on it. Even still it's going VERY strong!! The 4WD is very reliable and works very well every time I need it, especially in these NJ blizzards. Aside from regular car maintenance – tune ups, break pads, oil changes, new belts – the only other things I've had to get fixed or changed was the original exhaust system, two oxygen sensors, the a.c., radio and strut mounts. I will probably have to replace the original shocks soon, but it's not urgent. That's pretty good for a truck that's almost 20 years old! I have yet to have it break down on me, I don't exactly go off roading, but I'm somewhat of a "hard driver" with a lead foot and this truck keeps up!! It's also very comfortable and the storage space is AMAZING. You really can't go wrong with this car. 2016 and I'm still driving it around everyday. I'm having a hard time trying to find something to replace it! Will most likely go with a newer Pathfinder, just don't know when!!"

Pros: "RELIABLE, CONVENIENT, UNBEATABLE VALUE - DURABLE"

Cons: "GAS MILEAGE COMPARED TO NEW MODELS"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"IN 14 YEARS, IT ONLY REQUIRED 2 TUNE-UPS! TOTALLY RELIABLE. BOSE SOUND SYSTEM, HUGE STORAGE:REAR SEATS COLLAPSE TO CREATE A FULL STORAGE COMPARTMENT. FRONT SEATS TOTALLY RECLINE TO FORM CHAISE LOUNGES WITH THE REAR SEATS SO THAT YOU CAN VIEW THE FLIP-DOWN VIDEO SCREEN WITH WIRELESS HEADSET. INCREDIBLY CONVENIENT FOR ALL FAMILY NEEDS. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS CAR BUT WITH NEW CAR GAS MILEAGE & MY LONG COMMUTES, IT'S TIME TO GET - HMMM.... - ANOTHER NISSAN! I DROVE 5 MAXIMAS IN A ROW - EACH TO 280,000 MILES. THEY HAVE MY LOYALTY FOR LIFE. AFTER DRIVING FINICKY JAGUAR, CUMBERSOME (BUT STRONG!) VOLVO, UNRELIABLE FORD & CHEVY, NISSAN IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!!!!"

"I bought this car in '97 and have taken it camping off-road, used it in the mountains during ski season, and have never had an issue with it. Only major repair I have had to do was to replace the transmission 8 years ago."

Pros: "Everything. Purchased fully loaded and love!"

Cons: "The 2 Front square finishers pop off"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought this vehicle in the fall of 2000. Other than routine maintenance, the only thing I've ever had to replace were 2 oxygen sensors. One while the vehicle was still under warranty. Have never had a breakdown or any mechanical problems--super reliable. Also, very comfortable and roomy. By far, the best vehicle I have ever purchased."
