If you’re bored by your buddy’s BMW and your brother-in-law’s Benz, you’ll like the 2017 Jaguar XJ. Large and luxurious, the Jag is remarkably agile, light on its feet and fun to drive. With 340 horsepower its standard supercharged V6 is no slouch, but the big V8’s thrust is intoxicating.
Resale values of Jaguars, including the XJ, still lag behind the brand’s rivals. Although the XJ’s infotainment system is much improved, and onboard Wi-Fi is standard, the systems in the BMW, Audi and Mercedes still feel more advanced. The Jag also lacks the autonomous features found in the others.
