Although the 2018 GMC Savana is a capable van, its aging design and lack of newer safety and convenience features put it at a disadvantage when compared to rivals like the Ford Transit, Nissan NV and Ram ProMaster. Then again, the Savana’s 10,000-pound tow rating and available V8 engine are unsurpassed in this segment.
New Features and Revisions
The 2018 GMC Savana drops its standard 4.8-liter V8 in favor of a 4.3-liter V6 engine mated to a new 8-speed transmission. A rearview monitor is now standard, while side-blind-zone alert and hill-start assist are now available.
