If you need room for seven passengers but your budget is saying “compact SUV only,” the 4-cylinder Dodge Journey for 2017 is the answer. Highly versatile and offering a number of options, it’s easy to get into a nicely equipped Journey and still keep the price around $26,000.
If you need a 3rd-row seat that can fit two adults, a Chevrolet Traverse or Honda Pilot makes a better choice. The Kia Sorrento offers a more powerful 4-cylinder engine and a better warranty than the 2017 Dodge Journey, while the Toyota Highlander offers superior reliability and resale figures.
