Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Double Cab

Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Double Cab

About Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Double Cab

Feeling the sting of playing catch-up to Ford’s Super Duty and Ram’s HD trucks, Chevrolet has given its 2017 Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD a significant boost in power and ability. Thanks go to a greatly improved Duramax diesel engine that pumps out 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. Conventional tow ratings vary depending on configuration, but max out around 18,100 pounds for the 2500 HD and 23,300 for the 3500 HD. However, when it comes to using a fifth-wheel, the Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty still triumph over the Chevy. All this goodness doesn’t come cheap, with a fully decked-out Silverado 3500 HD easily pushing past $70,000. In fairness, the same holds true for the competition.

"This new HD 2500 is a beast, pulls our 11,000lb. 33' travel trailer with ease. Has good road manors loaded down or not. Get good compliments on ours all the time. Go try all the other heavy duty brands & compare it all like we did, then maybe an HD is in your future."

Pros: "You don't get tired driving it. A great ride."

"57 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup 350 couldn't kill it. Yes, I too owned a Vega and a T-1000 (no comment). My 1996 Tahoe still lives-I like that 4WD buggy 350 of course. NOW I have the Chevy 2500 Z71 Diesel 2015,I have to say I'm proud of those guys - the best vehicle ever! It's so fine (fit, finish, ride, looks) Man what a vehicle. I swear I got 28 mpg highway."
