Sauber offers the ultimate inside look at a modern Formula One car

Ever wonder what lies beneath the form-fitting carbon-fiber bodywork that envelops the world’s most technologically sophisticated racing machines? The Sauber F1 Team has just released a revealing show-and-tell video that dramatically answers the question by using a full-size cutaway of one of its cars. Creating this ultra-prop involved a painstakingly meticulous process that reportedly took Sauber F1 Team mechanics almost two years to complete. Although the vehicle that gave its all for this unique exercise is a predecessor of the Sauber C31 that’s being campaigned by the organization in 2012, the basic bits and fits are all still quite representative of the breed in general.
