Making its first public appearance in New York, the 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition puts an upscale spin on the automaker’s mid-size sedan. Working in collaboration with noted Detroit apparel manufacturer Carhartt — producer of the iconic "Imported from Detroit" clothing line — Chrysler says it crafted the 200 S Special Edition to reflect the common values of hard work, ingenuity and perseverance shared by both firms along with their "never say die" attitude.

An even more intense embodiment of the elements found in the extremely popular "S Package," the 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition ratchets up its exterior attitude with custom touches that include a gloss-black mesh grille insert with a platinum-chrome surround and platinum-chrome fog light accent spears up front, body-color side sill cladding with platinum-chrome belt moldings and 18-inch semi-gloss black alloy wheels wrapped in 225/50 tires to pop its profile view. Out back, the 200 S Special Edition boasts a body-color decklid spoiler, platinum chrome light bar and a unique rear valance with integrated polished exhaust tips. While no changes were made to the car’s 283-horsepower Pentastar V6 or 6-speed automatic transmission, Chrysler did enhance the vehicle dynamics by fitting a tauter sport suspension.

Inside, the Chrysler 200 S Special Edition steps up the standard fare found in a Limited S model – including leather upholstery and a premium Boston Acoustics audio package with unique Carhartt touches. Heading the list are black water-resistant fabric seat inserts with Carhartt logos in the seatbacks set off with diesel-gray accent stitching and a black finish on the air vents, gear shift, cup holders and control buttons on the multifunction steering wheel.
Production on the 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition will begin later this spring with sales to start shortly thereafter. Pricing starts at $29,865.
