Ford is recalling 179,698 total vehicles due to a potential loose or missing bolt in the seat frame.
Affected vehicles include:
- 117,443 2024-2026 Ford Bronco
- 62,255 2024-2026 Ford Ranger
According to Ford, the seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt can become loose or dislodged due to a faulty torque setting at a supplier. The result is that the occupant could become unrestrained in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Ford will inspect and replace affected seat frame pivot bolts as deemed necessary. As required by law, all recall repairs are free to the owner.
Owners will be notified about the recall starting May 11, 2026.
Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely get them all.
