Recall Alert: Volvo S60, V60, S90, XC60, XC90

Volvo has issued a recall for 291 vehicles, all from model year 2020, because their brake pedals could be unstable.

The move affects a small number of each of a long list of vehicles:

Tiny production errors can trigger recalls later. Volvo tells federal safety regulators that an assembly station building brake pedals used in many of its cars was misaligned for about five months in 2019. That left two bolts in many brake pedals looser than they should be.

“If the connection is loose there might be noise issues and an unstable pedal. Bad ergonomics due to larger distance between the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal will occur if the pushrod starts to become loose,” the company says.

The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.

Simple problems have simple solutions. Dealers will fix the problem by tightening the bolts.

Recall repairs, by law, are free. Many cars are recalled, often more than once, during their lifespans. Find out whether your car needs any free repairs with the VIN tool at our recall center.
