Recall Alert: Chrysler Minivans May Have Faulty Airbags

Chrysler has issued a recall for 178,246 Voyager and Pacifica minivans spanning the model years 2022 through 2026.

According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), “Some vehicles may have been built with a curtain airbag (CAB) that may not retain sufficient pressure during deployment.” If the proper pressure of the curtain airbag is lost, there may not be enough air to cushion a blow during a crash.

The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) sets tolerances for CABs, and the affected vehicles exceed those tolerances in the head and neck areas during testing for side-impact or rollover crashes.

Chrysler is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this recall.

To remedy the issue, dealers will inspect and replace the curtain airbags as necessary. Like all recall repairs, the service is free.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified beginning May 14, 2026.

Millions of vehicles are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they may not reach everyone.
