Behold Its Roomy and Refined Interior

Boasting more rear legroom than some midsize sedans and similarly impressive interior design and materials, the Nissan Sentra is one of the grown-ups in the compact car segment. There are sportier and more boldly styled alternatives in its price range, but the accommodating, efficient and tech-savvy Sentra delivers an excellent mix of the characteristics most buyers care about in the real world. For 2018, the Sentra receives more standard safety and convenience features.

Driving It

From our full review of the 2018 Nissan Sentra: "The Sentra’s ride is comfortable and visibility is excellent. The interior is also pleasingly spacious and comfortable. It’s a pleasant sedan in the city, but it’s not a car you would hesitate to road-trip through a few states either. Its interior is quiet on the highway, and its highway fuel economy is impressive."

Sentra Performance

The SR Turbo and NISMO boast the most powerful engine available in a Sentra -- a new 188-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The SR comes with the choice of a 6-speed manual or specially tuned continuously variable transmission, and upgraded brakes, steering and suspension. The NISMO goes a step further with stiffened body structure, unique suspension tuning and performance-inspired styling.

Comparison Test

The Nissan Sentra was one of four compact sedans in which we traversed 400 miles of highways, mountain roads and city streets throughout San Diego County as part of our most recent Compact Car Comparison.

Owners Say visitor and Sentra owner rpauls has this to say about the Sentra: "Cloth seats look great and, to me, are very comfortable. Padding on door and center arm rests, again, add to the comfortable driving experience. Steering wheel is first class for this kind of car in terms of feel, which again adds to nice driving experience. Gets a bit noisy inside on the freeway. Strong winds will move the car at freeway speeds is biggest negative. Tall stance and narrower tires may cause this." Read more Nissan Sentra consumer reviews.
