Lucid has recalled 3,900 Gravity models from the 2025 and 2026 model years due to a software issue that can affect the rearview monitor. Gravity vehicles running software versions prior to 3.3.20 may display a blank rearview monitor or a warning screen when shifting to reverse.
Lucid is asking Gravity owners to accept the software remedy, which was released via an over-the-air update in December. Updating to version 3.3.20 or later resolves the issue. So far, 3,462 users have accepted this update, while 438 have not, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
“Earlier versions of software could cause the intermittent delivery of vehicle power state and view signals to the camera system, causing the rearview image to fail to display,” Lucid states in its Safety Recall Report. “In addition, the handling of errors coming from lower-level components in the camera pipeline could cause a blank video feed.”
If the rearview image does not appear in the instrument cluster, or a message reading “Camera Unavailable. Restart the vehicle. Schedule service if the problem persists” appears, the software may need updating.
The software update is free. Gravity owners will be notified by first-class mail to update their software, along with instructions. Owners can also contact Lucid Customer Care for assistance.
