For 2018, the Kia Rio has been totally redesigned and is available with more safety, technology and convenience features than last year. It’s also more fuel-efficient — city, highway and combined fuel economy have gone up for 2018, with both the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic — which will save you money at the gas station.

The new Rio will also save you money at the dealership, as prices have gone down for the 2018 model year. The base-model LX sedan starts at $14,795 with the 6-speed manual transmission, and $15,885 with the 6-speed automatic, both lower starting prices than last year. For the 5-door hatchback, prices are also lower. With the 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2018 Rio hatch price starts at $16,185, a reduction of $205 from the 2017 model. The hatch wasn’t offered with a 6-speed manual last year, and choosing this transmission saves even more money for 2018, as that base price is down to $15,095. (All prices include destination.) The new Rio is expected to go on sale starting in early October.
