Jeep Recalls Grand Cherokee SUVs Over Suspension Issue, Again

Following a similar recall in 2023, Jeep is once again recalling Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs due to the potential separation of rear suspension coils. This recall affects 80,620 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L models from model years 2021-2023.

A report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that initial repairs were performed on affected vehicles in 2023, but complaints persisted that the coil spring still separated after the fix.

According to Jeep, if a suspension coil were to detach, it could create a road hazard that increases the likelihood of a crash, potentially resulting in injury to other drivers or passengers. No accidents or injuries were reported in relation to this recall as of Jan. 29, 2026.

Jeep found that the part itself is not defective; instead, the problem stems from a repair issue. The rear coil was not properly attached in assembly. Dealers will remedy this issue by inspecting the part and replacing the rear coil spring assembly if necessary.

This service is free of charge, as recall repairs always are. Owners should have been notified if their vehicle was affected on or around Feb. 12, 2026.
