Nissan Recalls Kicks, Sentra Over Seat Frame Issue

The 2026 Nissan Kicks in gray seen from a front quarter angle

Nissan has recalled 15 Kicks SUVs and Sentra sedans from model year 2026 because their front seats might not properly protect occupants in an accident.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the issue is limited to cars built on certain dates. Their front seat frames may not be fully welded, which could lead to injury in an accident. Nissan says owners might “notice an abnormal noise when activating the reclining feature” on these seats.

Nissan is not aware of any injuries or accidents related to the problem, which factory inspectors discovered.

Dealers will replace the front seats to fix the problem.

Recall repairs are always free.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely get them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
