Fiat is saying “Ciao!” to the Topolino, a new offering for the U.S. market that’s small, cute, and can only be driven around your neighborhood. The 2026 Fiat Topolino is available now through select dealerships, though they are in limited supply.
Micromobility Enters the Chat
The Topolino measures 99.6 inches long, 56.4 inches wide, and 61.2 inches tall, and weighs just over 1,000 pounds. In other words, it’s nearly 3.5 feet shorter than the already-tiny Fiat 500e.
The Topolino marks Fiat’s entrance into the micromobility space. Micromobility refers to small, low-speed vehicles typically designed for short trips and often powered by electric motors. Micromobility devices can be privately owned or include shareable vehicles designed for easy urban travel. This can include Vespas, e-scooters, Segways, and e-bikes.
A Little Piece of La Dolce Vita

While the Topolino is indeed electric-powered and tops out at 19 mph, it’s intended for “life beyond crowded streets.” The term “la dolce vita” refers to the sweet life, and Fiat sees this new vehicle as one meant for coastal drives, resort communities, and private neighborhoods.
Fiat CEO Olivier Francois says, “The Topolino represents a new chapter for the brand in the U.S. — defined not just by size, but by purpose. With Topolino, we bring a feeling, a lifestyle, a reminder that mobility can be joyful, expressive and beautifully simple.”
Inspired by Italian design culture and seaside spirit, the Topolino is available in two body styles. The Topolino has a panoramic sunroof, while the Topolino Dolce Vita has a roll-back soft-top and door rope. The Verde Vita Mint color is both playful and stylish, making this vehicle Instagram-ready.
Is Fiat Topolino Street Legal?
Because of its micromobility status, the Topolino is not meant to be driven on the street as is. A low-speed vehicle (LSV) conversion kit will be available later this year, allowing Topolino owners to increase the maximum speed to 25 mph. Once the Topolino becomes an LSV it is legal to drive it on public roads with speeds of 35 mph or less.
