- Honda will adopt a simplified H logo in 2027.
- It has already appeared on the planned Honda 0 Series electric cars, but will adorn even gas-powered models.
Honda’s logo is about to undergo an evolution for the first time since the year 2000.
The new logo is a more stylized H than the mark on cars today, and lacks a border. You may have seen it before on the two radically styled 0 Series electric vehicles (EVs) the company unveiled early in 2025, which are set to reach dealerships late this year.
It will appear first, the company says, on EVs and “next-generation hybrid-electric (HEV) models starting with the models to be introduced to the market in 2027 and beyond.”
Honda executives told reporters at a recent business briefing that the new logo will eventually adorn all of Honda’s cars, trucks, and SUVs. Honda motorcycles will retain the wing logo they have worn in several variations since the 1950s.
The company’s cars have worn some variation of an H logo since 1963, Honda says.
This latest version “like two outstretched hands, represents the commitment of Honda to augment the possibilities of mobility and sincerely serve the needs of the customers of Honda automobile business,” the company says.
Honda joins a growing list of automakers rebranding in the 2020s. GM kicked off the decade with a new, lowercase version of its longtime logo. Kia adopted a more linear version of its own name in 2021. It was easy to misread, and triggered widespread confusion as searches for the phrase “KN car” spiked. But consumers adjusted, with Kia seeing record sales growth last year.
