BMW has been teasing us for months with a sleek electric SUV that it touts as not just “the first of a new era,” but “the future of the car,” and now we know its cost of entry. The 2027 BMW iX3 will start at $62,850, including destination fee.
The BMW iX3 is a 2-row all-electric SUV that essentially replaces the iX in the brand’s lineup. This all-new model was unveiled last September and ushers in a fresh, clean design language. We already know that it boasts what BMW calls “superbrains” – multiple high-powered processors – along with standard all-wheel drive (AWD) thanks to dual motors that output a combined 463 horsepower, but now we also know its estimated range, and the figure is extremely impressive.
2027 BMW iX3 Range
BMW says the 2027 iX3 50 xDrive will have an EPA-estimated range of 434 miles. Anything over 400 miles puts the iX3 in rare air and propels it far past the Tesla Model Y, which has a max range of 357 miles. It also easily surpasses the range of the also-brand-new Rivian R2, which lists a max of 345 miles.
In addition to its eye-popping range figure, the BMW iX3 promises to charge quickly, too, thanks to its 800-volt architecture. BMW says it can juice from 10% to 80% charge in just 21 minutes on a DC fast charger.
A North American Charging System (NACS) charging port means the iX3 can use Tesla’s Supercharger network.

Availability and Features
First deliveries of the 2027 BMW iX3 are set to arrive in the U.S. on Sept. 25. A configurator is live now on BMW’s website, and reservations for the vehicle can be made with a $1,000 deposit. The iX3 will launch in the 50 xDrive trim, and we expect more, likely higher-powered variants, to follow down the road.
The iX3 comes standard with features such as a massive 43-inch windshield-spanning display, which it calls Panoramic Vision, in addition to a 17.9-inch central touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, bi-directional charging, 20-inch wheels, ambient lighting, and wireless device charging.
Active safety and driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and more.
Options include a panoramic glass sunroof, a 3D head-up display, Harman/Kardon premium audio, and enhanced driver-assistance features such as active lane change with eye activation and traffic jam assist.
With the iX3, BMW appears to be introducing not just its smartest and longest-range electric vehicle (EV) yet, but throwing down the gauntlet for its rivals.
