A missing component in the 4-wheel-drive (4WD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) systems could cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up, potentially causing a crash. GM is warning owners not to drive these vehicles until a fix is made. In fact, GM will be towing these vehicles to a dealership for inspection and repair.
Drivers may hear a grinding sound that precedes wheel lockup. Again, GM urges owners not to drive these vehicles. GM will inspect and, if necessary, replace the transfer case in affected vehicles
Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone. To check whether your vehicle might be subject to a recall, use the easy tool at our recall center. All you need is your VIN, license plate, or year, make, and model of your car to get started.
