Ford Recalls Over 200,000 F-150s Due to Unsecured Fuel Tank Issue

Ford recalled 223,472 F-150s. Front fuel tank straps on pickups from the 2023-2027 model years may have been improperly assembled. Because of this, the fuel tank can become unsecured from the vehicle and may detach while driving.

Improperly secured fuel tanks can cause fuel leaks, potentially leading to fires or engine stalls. A detached fuel tank can also be a road hazard. Ford officials said they are unaware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Owners will be notified to take their F-150 to a dealer to have their fuel tank straps inspected and replaced if necessary. This service is free of charge.

Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone. To check whether your vehicle might be subject to a recall, use the easy tool at our recall center. All you need is your VIN, license plate, or year, make, and model of your car to get started.
