Ford Recalls Nearly 22,000 Vehicles Over Failing Lights

Ford has recalled 21,765 vehicles because a cascading failure in their lighting can leave them without headlights, turn signals, and, in some cases, taillights.

The company tells federal safety officials that a control assembly in the headlights, called the LED Driver Module (LDM), can fail. That “will result in that headlamp assembly’s high beam, low beam, position lamp, daytime running lamp, and turn signal operation becoming inoperative.” On the Nautilus, it can also cause the taillights, rear turn signals, and rear positioning lamps to fail.

Dealers will fix it by inspecting the LDMs and replacing them if necessary.
