Ford Recalls 1.4 Million Vehicles Over Backup Cameras

Ford has recalled 1,456,417 vehicles because their rearview cameras can go blank or display a distorted image.

Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:

Ford tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a supplier made an “unauthorized change” to a circuit board, which could cause corrosion and degradation of the image over time.

Dealers will inspect the cameras and replace each one where they find the unauthorized change.

This is Ford’s 111th recall of 2025 — a record for any automaker in a year, with more than three months left to run up the unfortunate score.
