Ford and its Lincoln luxury division have recalled 72,624 trucks and SUVs because their rearview cameras can fail to display an image when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2021 Ford Expedition (21,088)
- 2021-2022 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 Super Duty (40,409)
- 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair (11,127)
Ford tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it has not isolated the cause of the problem but believes it is limited to a specific batch of cameras received from a supplier.
Because Ford has yet to figure out what’s causing the issue, it hasn’t developed a remedy. When the fix does come, it will be free. By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
