In a report to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Audi states that “a software issue may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying,” which could reduce a driver’s visibility when reversing. In extreme cases, it could increase the risk of a crash.
There is no direct action that owners need to take to resolve this issue. To address the malfunction, new software has been developed to prevent further failures.
