Toyota’s full-size Sequoia SUV gets some upgrades and refreshes for the 2027 model year, making it more off-road capable, more connected, and safer. Time to take your Sequoia out into the sequoias!
Into the Wild
The 2027 Toyota Sequoia gets an available Trailhunter Package, which isn’t just a performative appearance package. It adds a robust Old Man Emu off-road suspension, front recovery hooks, and more underbody protection for going over rough and rugged terrain.
The SR5-based Trailhunter also gets Michelin LTX Trail tires wrapped around some of the best-looking off-road wheels we’ve seen in a while. Multi-Terrain select, Crawl Control and a locking rear differential round out the capability bundle. Just because it’s big doesn’t mean it’s not ready for adventure. Now the Sequoia is better equipped for it.
Mega Multimedia
Toyota gives the Sequoia its latest and greatest infotainment system in the new Toyota Audio Multimedia experience. Highlights include a standard 14-inch touchscreen, built-in Drive Recorder Dash Cam, and voice-activated functionality. AT&T 5G network connectivity is added for the first time, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard.
The interface looks Smartphone-inspired with a Quick Control short cut menu that helps eliminate oft-used functionality from being buried in sub-menus. This makes getting to things including driver-assistance options easier.
The Sequoia also gets an optional a 2.4kW inverter, which could come in handy while camping or tailgating.
Hey, Good Looking
The already handsome exterior gets slight adjustments for 2027 in new front-end design and some bright chrome finishes. It doesn’t just look rough and tumble, but could easily go from camping to cocktail party. (Rough and tumble dirt shot shown here).
The grille-mounted LED light bar gets an upgrade for improved visibility. Available Rigid Industries fog lights offer even more illumination.
Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 also comes standard and is a comprehensive suite of safety features. Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control uses the native navigation system to slow the SUV before upcoming turns. Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist will take over if you veer outside the lines. Other advanced features including Road Sign Assist, Proactive Driving Assist, and Lane Tracing Assist are features that generally cost more in luxury vehicles.
