The 2027 Toyota Crown blends sedan comfort and design with the higher stance and all-wheel drive of an SUV, plus the efficiency of a hybrid. It keeps its four trim levels from 2026: XLE, Limited, Nightshade, and Platinum.
2027 Newness
Paddle shifters and the fifth generation of the Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) are new for the XLE, Limited, and Nightshade trims for a more “spirited” and “engaging driving experience,” according to Toyota.
Enhanced Style
A newly sculpted rear bumper and glossy black accents aim to give the Crown a more striking silhouette. Exterior color options include the new Inked black, plus Oxygen White, Bronze Age, Heavy Metal, Finish Line Red, and Storm Cloud. Badging also gets a satin finish.
The Platinum trim now gets red brake calipers. The two-tone paint scheme on the Platinum trim includes a trunk that complements the black roof. Color pairings for the two-tone option include Oxygen White, Heavy Metal, Finish Line Red, or Bronze Age.
The Crown has rounded body lines and a hammerhead front fascia that gives it a distinctive appearance. Nineteen-inch wheels come standard, and 21-inch wheels are available.
Elevated Interior
More color options are available for the Crown’s interior for the 2027 model year. The Limited trim now comes with Saddle Tan seats, which are also an option for Platinum trim drivers.
The commitment to a premium feel continues with standard leather-trimmed seating, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, charging ports, dual-zone climate control, and wireless charging. Platinum, Nightshade, and Limited grades include a panoramic moonroof. Also available on the Platinum trim is a head-up display and a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel.
Standard Hybrid Power
The XLE, Limited, and Nightshade trims use an updated version of the standard gas-electric hybrid system that pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with front and rear electric motors to create 236 horsepower. Toyota says it will return an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined, which would be slightly below the 41 mpg combined of the 2026 model.
The top-line Platinum grade continues to use the potent the Hybrid Max powertrain. This system delivers 340 net combined horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Toyota has yet to estimate its fuel economy, but the 2026 version of this trim returns 30 mpg combined.
All Crown models come with all-wheel drive (AWD).
Other Features and 2027 Crown Pricing
Standard drive modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, and Custom. The Platinum trim also offers Rear Comfort mode. This mode adjusts suspension-related settings for a smoother ride for rear seat passengers.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0., ToyotaCare, and Toyota’s Limited Warranty are also included.
Pricing for the 2027 Toyota Crown starts at $42,935, including the $1,295 destination fee. That’s just $200 more than the 2026 model.
